Examples include honey, glycerin, ethanol, methanol, concentrated sulfuric acid, and concentrated sodium hydroxide (lye). Hygroscopy is the phenomenon of attracting and holding water molecules via either absorption or adsorption from the surrounding environment , which is usually at normal or room temperature.
